Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has invested in Ayodhya’s premium plotted development project ‘The Sarayu’ by The House of Abhinandan Lodha, further highlighting growing interest in the city’s rapidly evolving spiritual and real estate ecosystem.
The transaction, valued at approximately ₹3.31 crore, involves a 2,134 sq. ft. land parcel within the 75-acre luxury development located along the banks of the Sarayu river. The project combines branded land ownership with lifestyle infrastructure, including a grand clubhouse, over 35 curated amenities and a five-acre fully vegetarian luxury hotel by The Leela.
Positioned near Ayodhya’s major spiritual landmarks, The Sarayu aims to blend heritage-driven living with modern infrastructure and transparent digital land ownership processes. Industry observers see the project as part of a larger trend where spiritual destinations are increasingly attracting premium hospitality and real estate investments.
Commenting on the investment, Ranbir Kapoor said Ayodhya holds deep cultural and historical significance and described the purchase as a meaningful addition to his family’s legacy. Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, said Ayodhya is emerging as a long-term growth destination driven by tourism, infrastructure and global attention.
Ayodhya has witnessed rapid transformation following major public infrastructure investments and improved connectivity. According to government estimates cited by the company, tourist arrivals surged from nearly 5.75 crore before temple construction to around 23 crore visitors between January and June 2025, with projections touching 50 crore visitors by the end of the year.
The development reflects rising demand for branded land projects, spiritual tourism-linked investments and integrated hospitality-led ecosystems in Ayodhya.
