The Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board (UPETDB) has invited private participation through operations and maintenance bids for 11 eco-tourism destinations that blend natural landscapes, heritage assets, and modern infrastructure.
Developed across Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, Banda, Jalaun, Kushinagar, Barabanki, Sitapur, Ballia, Maharajganj, and Milkipur, these projects showcase architectural and infrastructural innovation within ecologically sensitive contexts. From a floating restaurant on the Saryu in Ayodhya to eco-gateways at Kalinjar Fort, watchtowers at lakesides, amphitheatres for cultural events, eco-cottages, wellness zones, and boating facilitiesโeach site has been designed as a self-sustaining tourism hub.
With renewable energy use, low-impact construction, and community-driven facilities like craft markets and performance spaces, the projects aim to balance visitor experience with environmental stewardship.

Our goal is to position Uttar Pradesh as a global leader in responsible and experiential tourism,โ said Prakhar Misra, Director (Eco), UP Tourism.
Through transparent e-tendering at etender.up.nic.in, investors can access a 15-year concession model (extendable to 30 years) with multiple revenue streams including ticketing, boating, wellness retreats, festivals, and food courts.
By transforming lakes, riverfronts, and heritage landscapes into architecturally significant, sustainable tourism infrastructure, Uttar Pradesh is positioning eco-tourism as both an economic driver and a cultural statement.
