Msheireb Properties, Qatar’s leading sustainable developer, has been recognized for its innovative approach to architecture with the Smart Built Environment Awards 2025 for Innovation in Architecture. The award acknowledges Msheireb Downtown Doha’s design and forward-thinking approach, which combines the spirit and aesthetics of Qatari architecture with sustainable design and modern technology.
The award-winning architectural language, known as the “Seven Principles,” is a comprehensive framework developed in collaboration with architects, urban planners, and academics. This framework aims to restore the distinct identity of Qatar’s built environment and revive the strong social ties that once defined Qatari communities. Msheireb Properties’ commitment to sustainable development is evident in its projects, including Msheireb Downtown Doha, which has received numerous international accolades.
Msheireb Properties has had a remarkable year, with Msheireb Downtown Doha receiving dual honors at The Global Economics Awards 2025, including “Leading Urban Business Destination” and “Best Smart City Project for Mobility.” The project also secured “Sustainable Development of the Year” and “Smart City Planning Excellence” at the Real Estate Asia Awards 2025.
Msheireb Properties actively participated in the Smart Built Environment Forum in Dubai, where the award was announced. Eng. Fatima Mohamed Fawzi and Mubarak Mohammed Alboainin shared their expertise on panels discussing the future of residential spaces and delivering experiential spaces for new generations of tenants. Mubarak Mohammed Alboainin noted that the forum provided an opportunity to share perspectives gained from creating the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project, with the goal of developing spaces that inspire, connect, and adapt to the needs of the future.
