Navayuga Engineering Company Limited has secured its second Guinness World Record for constructing the widest underground tunnel as part of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway Missing Link Project.

Project Scope
The 13.3-km Missing Link, executed by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, includes 10.67 km of twin tunnels, each 22.33 metres wide, cutting through the challenging Sahyadri terrain.
Travel Boost
The new corridor bypasses the congested Khandala Ghat stretch, reducing travel time between Mumbai and Pune by around 30 minutes and easing traffic bottlenecks.
Engineering Scale
The project involved excavation of over 8.5 million tonnes of rock, use of 7,600 tonnes of steel, and deployment of advanced construction methods including NATM with controlled blasting.
Safety Tech
State-of-the-art systems such as SCADA-based monitoring, AI-powered controls, jet ventilation, fire suppression, and integrated emergency response mechanisms ensure high safety standards within the tunnels.
