Premium co-living operator Housr has introduced a zero-deposit rental solution for residents across India through a partnership with fintech platform CirclePe, aiming to reduce the upfront financial burden associated with renting.
The new offering, now live on Housr’s resident management app, allows tenants to move into Housr properties without paying the conventional security deposit. Instead, residents can opt for a small monthly payment through CirclePe’s embedded financing solution, making the move-in process more affordable and convenient.
Security deposits often require tenants to lock up a significant amount of money before occupying a rental property, particularly in major metropolitan cities. The new model seeks to address this long-standing challenge by improving liquidity for renters while simplifying the onboarding experience.
Commenting on the launch, Deepak Anand, Co-founder and CEO, Housr, said the company has consistently focused on making premium living more seamless for residents. “By removing the deposit barrier and enabling seamless technology integration within our app, we are making move-ins simpler for our customers,” he said.
According to a Colliers report cited by the company, India’s co-livingmarketย is projected to grow fivefold to โน200 billion by 2030. However, the sector continues to operate within a rental ecosystem where tenants in cities such as Bengaluru often pay security deposits running into lakhs of rupees before moving into a home.
Housr believes the zero-deposit model will make premium rental housing more financially accessible for working professionals and urban migrants while encouraging greater flexibility in the rental market.
The rollout forms part of Housr’s broader strategy to enhance the resident experience through technology-led innovations and integrated financial solutions, while supporting the continued evolution of India’s organised co-living sector.
