STHAPATI Architects has announced that the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport, Ayodhya, has received a 4-Star GRIHA Rating, along with two special awards: โExemplary Performance in Renewable Energy Utilisationโ and โBest Energy Management.โ The airport, designed by STHAPATI, stands as the only airport in India to receive top accolades at the GRIHA Summit.
Spanning 336.59 acres with an 8,000 sqm built-up area, the Rs 250 crore project is designed to handle 750+ travelers per peak hour and support four aircraft movements hourly. The airport features eco-conscious Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete ornamentation, reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainability.
The project is anticipated to generate 500 new jobs annually, contributing to community-driven prosperity. STHAPATI positions airports as living canvases, blending art, movement, and local culture to create immersive gateways.
The design team, led by Harsh Varshneya, Khushboo Bansal, and Vipul B. Varshneya, collaborated with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to deliver this award-winning airport.
