Hansgrohe, the German fittings powerhouse, is expanding its production at its Mumbai facility to meet the growing demand for luxury bathroom fittings in India. The company aims to produce 200,000 luxury bathroom fittings annually by 2028, driven by the surge in demand for upscale homes across the country.
The Indian bathroom fittings industry is expected to reach $16.7 billion in five years, growing at an annual rate of nearly 8%. Hansgrohe’s Indian division has been clocking over 25% yearly revenue growth since 2020, with revenue reaching $38.7 million last year. The company’s leadership expects India’s sales share to double to 10% of global revenue by 2030.
Hansgrohe is not alone in the Indian market, with global heavyweights like Kohler and Toto also investing heavily in the country. These companies are rolling out innovative products, such as touchless taps and tech-powered toilets, to cater to the growing demand for smart and high-end home upgrades.
The company is targeting affluent, city-dwelling Indians looking to upgrade their homes. Hansgrohe is expanding its dealer network and debuting its first New Delhi experience center to showcase its products. With a million new millionaires expected in India by 2028, the country is becoming a key growth driver for home-focused manufacturers.
