The Reserve Bank of India’s decision to keep policy rates unchanged has been welcomed by real estate stakeholders, who believe the move will support housing demand, strengthen buyer confidence and provide greater certainty for developers and investors.
Ramani Sastri, Chairman & MD, Sterling Developers, said the stable interest rate environment will help sustain momentum across the housing sector while ensuring predictability in project funding and home loan repayments.
“A stable interest rate regime ensures greater predictability in funding for developers, facilitating smoother project execution, while also enabling homebuyers to make long-term financial decisions with enhanced confidence supported by stable EMIs,” he said, adding that infrastructure growth, urbanisation and rising consumer aspirations continue to underpin long-term demand.
Ashish Acharya, Founder & CEO, Propsoch, said policy continuity would support both demand and investment sentiment.
“When buyers know their loan EMIs aren’t going to jump overnight, they can stop rushing and start making calmer, smarter, and more data-driven decisions about where they invest their life savings,” he said, noting that the current environment could encourage more first-time homebuyers to enter the market.
For the commercial real estate segment, Manas Mehrotra, Founder, 315Work Avenue, said stable borrowing conditions would support leasing activity and business expansion.
“A stable interest rate environment offers much-needed predictability, supporting informed decision-making. As businesses increasingly adopt agile and cost-efficient workspace strategies, a supportive policy framework can further accelerate expansion plans,” he said.
Harsh Jagwani, Managing Director, Notandas Realty, said the unchanged rates would benefit both developers and homebuyers while supporting continued growth in residential and commercial real estate.
“Rate stability will help developers plan their investments and project execution timelines with certainty. Stable rates will help in boosting investor confidence and capital inflows in commercial assets,” he said.
Industry stakeholders expect the RBI’s stance to support sustained demand momentum and strengthen confidence across residential, commercial and flexible workspace segments in the coming quarters.
