KPMB Architects, a Canadian firm founded in 1987 and headquartered in Toronto, has launched its first U.S. office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, marking a significant expansion in its North American presence. The new studio, located at 47 Thorndike Streetโformerly home to GUND Partnershipโwill be led by David Zenk as principal, Brian Kerr as associate, and Jill Buckley as office manager. All three were previously leaders at GUND Partnership, which closed in 2025 following the death of its founder, Graham Gund.
Zenk, who spent three decades at GUND and served as its managing principal, expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, โAfter three decades, Iโm thrilled to begin this new chapter in my own career and help shape the next one for KPMB.โ He added, โKPMB has a great portfolio of work and significant experience designing successful academic facilities, cultural venues, and corporate workplaces across the U.S.โand Iโm excited for what weโll accomplish together.โ
