UK-based studio Klas Hyllén Architecture has updated a 1970s bungalow in south west England, transforming it into a stunning home that captures the essence of the surrounding landscape. The renovated home, named Sky House, features a glazed link area that separates the living and bedroom volumes, pulling light and views into the heart of the plan.
The design celebrates the site’s dramatic views, with a large corner window in the kitchen and dining area offering a glimpse of the horizon. The interior is characterized by clarity, openness, and a connection to the outdoors, with a mix of stone, wood, and glass elements. The glazed link volume houses the kitchen and dining area, while a main living area with a concealed bookshelf door leads to a private zone. The exterior features Creeton limestone cladding and whitewashed British larch, with stepped patios and slatted timber fences and planters.
“The design seeks to capture and celebrate the constantly shifting canvas of English weather,” says Klas Hyllén, founder of Klas Hyllén Architecture.
