GIFT City is accelerating the development of social infrastructure projects as part of its strategy to strengthen its position as a globally competitive financial and business hub and attract international talent.
The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) is developing a series of lifestyle, recreation and community-focused projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for professionals, entrepreneurs, institutions and their families.
As part of the initiative, GIFT City has partnered with The Sports Gurukul (TSG) and OneGolf to establish a technology-enabled golf entertainment destination spread across 84,744 square feet. The facility will feature a 350-foot driving range, 20 golf bays, advanced coaching infrastructure and dedicated spaces for corporate networking, executive engagement and community events.
Jay Shah, Spokesperson for The Sports Gurukul-OneGolf Venture, said the project will combine modern infrastructure, advanced golf technology and structured coaching programmes to create a world-class golfing destination while supporting the growth of the sport in India.
The golf entertainment facility will incorporate real-time shot analytics, performance tracking, digital scorekeeping, video playback systems and virtual golf simulation technology. The project is expected to become operational by January 2027.
In parallel, GIFT City is developing a multi-sport arena that will include facilities for box cricket, football, pickleball, baseball practice and golf-related activities. The sports complex is scheduled for completion by September 2026.
Jaxay Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Savvy Group, said the arena will feature eight pickleball courts, two padel courts, box football and cricket facilities, a volleyball court, jogging track, outdoor gym and social spaces including a café and event venue designed to support community interaction and corporate engagement.
Further strengthening its social infrastructure roadmap, GIFT City has initiated the development of a large-scale Destination Mall. The Request for Proposal (RFP) for the project has alreadybeen issued.
The proposed mixed-use development will have a minimum development potential of approximately 750,000 square feet and will include premium retail outlets, domestic and international food and beverage offerings, entertainment zones, family recreation facilities and cinema experiences.
GIFT City said the projects form part of its broader strategy to create a globally benchmarked urban ecosystem capable of supporting financial institutions, multinational corporations, global capability centres, fintech firms and international professionals.
Sanjay Kaul, Managing Director and Group CEO of GIFT City, said the organisation’s vision extends beyond financial services and focuses on building a holistic urban environment that supports work, recreation, wellness and community engagement.
He said the new sports, leisure and retail developments would enhance liveability standards and strengthen GIFT City’s appeal as a destination to live, work and invest.
With the sports arena scheduled for completion later this year, the golf entertainment destination expected to open in early 2027 and the destination mall moving through the planning process, GIFT City is continuing to expand the social infrastructure needed to support its next phase of growth and reinforce its standing among emerging global financial centres.
