The Global Award for Sustainable Architecture has announced its 2025 laureates, recognizing five architects, urban planners, and landscape designers for their work in sustainable development, participatory design, and community-oriented architecture. Founded in 2006 by Jana Revedin, the award honors projects that are locally rooted, environmentally respectful, socially meaningful, and exemplary in construction quality.
This year’s honorees include Prof. Dr. Hoang Thuc Hao, architect and founder of 1+1>2 in Vietnam, who was recognized for his work in rural areas, adapting to local realities and empowering residents to improve their living environment. The jury praised his innovative exploration of materials and technologies, which he incorporates into his teaching, architectural projects, and commitment to serving society.
The other 2025 Global Award for Sustainable Architecture honorees are:
– Dr. Salima Naji, anthropologist and architect (Morocco)
– Marie Combette and Daniel Moreno Flores, architects and founders of La Cabina de la Curiosidad (France and Ecuador)
– Marie and Keith Zawistowski, architects and founders of onSITE (France and United States)
– Andrea Gebhard, geographer, sociologist, urban planner, and landscape architect, founder of mโขgโขk mahl gebhard konzepte (Germany)
The awards highlight the importance of community-oriented architecture and sustainable development in creating meaningful and environmentally respectful projects.
