The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) and Adani Cement Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership to promote eco-friendly and energy-efficient construction practices across India. This collaboration, formalised during CREDAI’s Governing Council Meeting in Goa, aims to leverage the strengths of both organisations to advance the adoption of sustainable building materials and technologies in the real estate sector.
The partnership will provide CREDAI members with direct access to Adani Cement’s extensive supply chain, ensuring a steady and reliable supply of high-quality cement for their construction projects nationwide. Key aspects of the collaboration include:
– Promoting sustainable construction practices through the use of eco-friendly building materials and energy-efficient construction techniques
– Sharing technical expertise to enhance the quality and sustainability of construction projects
– Supporting the development of net-zero buildings that produce as much energy as they consume
Adani Cement has committed to powering 60% of its cement production with renewable energy sources by 2028 and has achieved a significant milestone by producing over 90% of its cement using blended materials, recycling waste fly ash and slag. CREDAI has pledged to certify 1 lakh homes and 25 million square feet of commercial real estate with green building certifications annually.
This partnership marks a significant step towards transforming the Indian construction industry into a more sustainable and eco-conscious sector.
