Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria reviewed major development and housing projects, focusing on civic infrastructure, urban planning, and emerging housing requirements. He inspected sites including the IT Habitat Project, Sanjay Colony, Government Housing site, and Chandigarh Housing Board projects.
Kataria emphasized utilising vacant land for sustainable development and public welfare, and directed officials to integrate essential amenities in government housing. He also stressed transparent functioning at commercial hubs like the bulk material market.
At the Government Housing Project, Kataria wanted dedicated allotments for government employees to reduce housing rent allowances. He also inspected the Beant Singh Memorial, directing proposals to enhance public access.
