Autodesk has announced the release of a specialized suite of digital design tools tailored for India’s public sector infrastructure projects. The “BIM Package for Viksit Bharat” is designed for Indian engineers, architects, and decision-makers involved in planning and executing large-scale national projects. This suite features custom toolsets for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Civil 3D, adapted to Indian standards and regulations.
The package includes Indian-standard templates and components for Revit, aligned with the Delhi Schedule of Rates (DSR), and Autodesk Civil 3D has been configured to comply with guidelines from the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and Indian Railways. These modifications aim to reduce manual tasks, improve coordination, and accelerate project timelines.
According to Alok Sharma, Director of Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), Autodesk India & SAARC, “BIM is central to infrastructure delivery, but wider adoption in India has been limited by a lack of locally relevant tools. The updated solutions aim to bridge this gap by aligning software features with Indian codes and workflows, helping professionals achieve better results at scale.”
The launch comes amid growing interest in emerging technologies such as AI, generative design, and digital transformation in India’s construction and infrastructure sectors. Autodesk’s India-focused BIM solutions are positioned to support this trend, enabling faster, more efficient, and environmentally responsible project execution while staying aligned with national development goals.
