Berry Decorator Recognised for Biophilic Glamour Project
Asha Ardill, a berry-based interior decorator, has won an international award for her project Biophilic Glamour, South Coast. The project took out a Resene Residential Exterior Tone-e Award in the 2026 Resene Total Colour Awards.
ย A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Design
Biophilic Glamour, a private residence backing onto a national park, showcases Ardill’s ability to create harmonious and unique designs that balance new elements with existing features. The exterior transformation reimagined a suburban beige building using Resene Bokara Grey CC, Double Bianca, Bianca, and Resene Woodsman Cherrywood, giving the home renewed definition while connecting it to the landscape. Inside, jewel-toned and animal print fabrics, patterned wallpaper, and carefully selected textures work together to create light, airy spaces that visually link the interior with the trees outside.
Kells Instory’s Leesa Mak Emerald and charcoal rugs, along with curated lighting, frame views of the surrounding park and reinforce the home’s connection to nature. The project was photographed by Ainslie McNamara of Ainslie Co. Photography.
Ardill’s Design Philosophy
Ardill’s approach to interior design draws on her background in the film industry, where she worked in set design and visual storytelling. This experience developed her ability to use colour, pattern, and light to set mood and atmosphere โ skills she now applies to residential interiors. Ardill is known for her ability to visualise completed spaces before they exist, creating harmonious and unique designs that balance new elements with existing features.
