Universal Furniture is introducing its most extensive upholstery collection to date, featuring nearly 50 designs, including special order and ready-to-ship options. The collection showcases classic designs with curves and organic shapes, dominating the sofa and accent chair introductions.
“Classic designs with lots of curves and organic shapes will dominate the sofa and accent chair introductions,” said Rick Lovegrove, Vice President of Upholstery. Fabrics are shifting from stark whites to texture-driven designs in neutral colorways, with some featuring recycled yarns. “Everything from wood to fabrics is warming up,” Lovegrove added. Leather tones are also warming up, with the addition of Italian performance leathers and colorful full aniline leather with protective treatment.
The ready-to-ship offerings include the Mercer sectional, featuring a 10-inch-wide track arm and a floating appearance, and the Hyde power motion sectional, designed with a smaller footprint and zero wall mechanisms. Other ready-to-ship designs include the Vesta swivel chair with fully padded vertical channel quilting and the Enzo swivel chair with a warm white upholstered seat and brown woven back.
The special-order introductions include the Chelsea sofa and sectional with softly rounded arms and sculptural silhouette, the Commons bench with a tightly crowned rectangular seat, the Lamar swivel chair with an X-shaped wood base, and the Ghent sofa featuring a Belgian flared arm.
