Studio RAP has just unveiled its latest masterpiece, Blue Voyage, at the Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab hotel in Dubai. This breathtaking installation features two enormous 3D-printed ceramic walls, each measuring 9 meters long and 6 meters high, framing the hotel’s entrance.
Inspired by the nearby Gulf, the walls’ curved forms evoke the movement of waves, while intricate surface patterns react to light and shadow throughout the day. The use of large, custom-made corner tiles enhances the installation’s sculptural quality and spatial clarity.
What’s remarkable is that Studio RAP designed and 3D-printed around 900 unique ceramic tiles for this project, showcasing their innovative approach to combining computational design and craftsmanship. Blue Voyage is among the largest 3D-printed ceramic architectural installations in the world, redefining the possibilities of ceramics in architecture.
