Somany Ceramics Ltd., a leading ceramic industry player, partnered with Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS) on a project titled “Transforming Broken Tiles into Trendsetting Style.” The initiative aimed to promote recycling of waste tiles into art and murals, fostering sustainability and reducing waste as per a press release.
Seventeen talented architecture students showcased their art and technical expertise in repurposing discarded tiles into breathtaking works of art. Anshuman Chakravarty, Head of Marketing at Somany Ceramics, said, “Itโs inspiring to witness such strong commitment to recycling and sustainability from the next generation of architects. Dr. Anjali S. Patil, Head of Department at MITS, added, “This collaboration has offered our students a valuable opportunity to apply their design skills in a practical, real-world setting. Through this tile art initiative, they not only gained hands-on experience in sustainable design but also contributed to a meaningful environmental cause.”
The partnership between Somany Ceramics and MITS promoted awareness about recycling and encouraged young minds to take care of the environment.
