Schumacher, a renowned American textile firm, is redefining interior design with its exquisite range of high-end fabrics, wall coverings, trims, and furniture, now available at its new showroom in Milan’s upscale Brera district. This latest addition to the company’s European presence offers designers and homeowners a wealth of luxurious materials to transform their spaces.
The new showroom serves as an embassy for the brand, offering a wide range of high-end interior design products. Schumacher’s managing director, Elisabetta Bono, emphasizes the importance of building relationships with interior designers and decorators in Milan’s discerning design community.
Schumacher has a rich history of collaborations, including fashion tie-ups with designers like Paul Poiret and Elsa Schiaparelli, and more recently, with Johanna Ortiz. In 2021, it bought edgy wall coverings firm Backdrop to appeal to younger generations. Backdrop also unveiled a four-piece wallpaper collection that filtered archival Schumacher designs from the 20th century through its own surreal, abstract lens.
