Saint-Gobain North America has announced the winners of the United States National round of its Architecture Student Contest. Alexander Davidson Caroll, Magnolia Moskun, and Huiyun Qiu from Rhode Island School of Design took top honors with their project aimed at revitalizing the Nord Isรจre area in southeastern France. The team will represent the United States in the international competition in Lyon, France.
The contest, now in its 21st year, challenges university students to develop projects that respond to authentic neighborhood or urban needs while adhering to sustainable construction principles. Over 1,360 students in 546 teams from 211 universities participated this year. A panel of experts judged the projects based on architectural design, technical and environmental detail, construction detail, and product usage.

The winning team will compete against winners from 32 other countries in the international round, receiving feedback from international judges and a tour of the subject city. The top three winners will receive โฌ5,000, โฌ3,000, and โฌ1,500, respectively.
