Oxford-based 3D scanning startup NavLive has launched a new portal that provides architects and builders with real-time 3D building scans. The portal uses AI to enhance building modeling and measurement scans, enabling professionals to manage project scans in a cloud-based library, auto-generate drawings, and explore scans as 3D point clouds.
The portal offers several key features, including auto-generated floor plans and elevations, AI-generated drawings and overlays, built-in measurement tools, and real-time rendering. This allows architects, surveyors, and construction professionals to quickly calculate square footage and view spaces in 3D.
According to Chris Davison, chief executive at NavLive, the portal streamlines planning, measurement, and project management by providing an instant view of layouts, floor levels, void spaces, and wall structure. “Generating building scans and plans has long been a slow, costly process that often produces error-prone surveys,” Davison said. “Through our AI portal, that pain is gone, instantly producing real-time AI drawings, measurements, and 2D and 3D modeling straight from the scanner.”
