With the Union Budget scheduled to be announced on 1 February 2026, real estate and construction sector leaders have outlined their expectations from the government, highlighting areas such as homebuyer affordability, liquidity support, infrastructure-led urban growth and incentives for sustainable construction practices.
Sidharth Pansari, Director, Primarc Group, said, โThe upcoming budget can act as a strong confidence trigger for real estate if it prioritises homebuyer affordability, liquidity support for developers, and faster infrastructure-led urban expansion. A clear policy push in these areas would not only revive end-user demand but also accelerate sustainable, long-term growth across cities beyond the metros.โ
Mohit Saboo, CFO & Director, BigBloc Construction Ltd, said, โBigbloc Construction eagerly anticipates the Union Budget 2026 as a pivotal moment to accelerate India’s infrastructure revolution through sustainable construction practices. As a leader in eco-friendly Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) blocks and panels, the company views enhanced capital expenditure on housing, urban development, and green infrastructure as key opportunities to drive demand for innovative building materials.โ He added, โBigbloc urges incentives like higher Floor Space Index (FSI) for projects using AAC blocks and panels, tax rebates on green materials, and phased restrictions on polluting red bricks to promote cleaner alternatives. Continued PMAY allocations and streamlined approvals for infra projects will boost sector growth, aligning with our expansions in green building materials. We also expect government to provide some liquidity boost in the real estate sector.โ Saboo further said, โThe budget can catalyse job creation and economic multipliers by prioritizing sustainable urban infra, logistics, and railways, where our green building products excel in speed, efficiency, and ESG compliance. Bigbloc remains committed to innovation, operational excellence, and stakeholder value amid rising capex.โ
