Pedrali is celebrating 20 years of its wooden furniture manufactory in Manzano, Italy, a facility renowned for producing iconic designs like Frida, Malmö, and Nemea. Located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Chair District, the manufactory exemplifies Pedrali’s commitment to quality craftsmanship, Italian know-how, and sustainable design.
The facility’s success is rooted in its fully managed, in-house production process, which ensures precise control over every stage. According to Monica Pedrali, CEO of Pedrali, “Italy boasts some of the world’s best technologies for manufacturing wooden chairs, and a heritage of expert skills in raw material selection and complex processes that is hard to replicate elsewhere.”
To commemorate its 20th anniversary, Pedrali has introduced Griante, its first wooden chair specifically designed for outdoor use. Crafted from weather-resistant teak and handwoven, fully recyclable polypropylene yarn, Griante showcases Pedrali’s dedication to material innovation and versatile design applications.
Pedrali’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its practices. The company’s wooden products are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), guaranteeing responsible sourcing from adequately managed forests. Additionally, Pedrali uses water-based coatings derived from plant-based resins, which significantly decrease chemical compounds found in traditional coatings, resulting in a healthier working environment and reduced environmental impact. The Manzano manufactory itself features photovoltaic panels and LED lighting, contributing to a reduction in CO2 emissions.
