The New Taipei City Art Museum has been awarded the 2025 Taiwan Architecture Award – First Prize for its outstanding site renewal, craftsmanship, and technical excellence. Designed by Artech, the museum is a landmark cultural project that showcases the integration of sustainability and architectural vision in Taiwan.
Arup provided sustainability, structural, and MEP engineering services for the museum, which is built on a former waste disposal site. The design concept, inspired by reed landscapes, harmonizes architecture and environment, incorporating sustainable strategies and climate-responsive solutions.
“The award is a powerful recognition of how deeply integrated design and sustainability can elevate a cultural project,” said YL Cheng, Mainland China, Macau, Korea, and Taiwan Group Leader. The museum is expected to deliver long-term social and environmental value to New Taipei City.
