Jigar Cables Ltd’s board of directors has approved the setting up of a greenfield cable manufacturing unit at Rajkot in Gujarat. The new facility will manufacture medium voltage control cables, high tension cables, and power & control cables with a total capacity of 500 km per month.
The establishment of the new manufacturing facility aims to strengthen the company’s manufacturing capabilities, cater to evolving market demand, and support future growth. Commercial production at the new facility is expected to start in 1-3 months.
Jigar Cables had recently purchased an industrial property comprising factory land and building in Rajkot for around โน5.80 crore to support its expansion plans. The company currently has a manufacturing facility at Gondal, Rajkot, with an installed capacity of around 6.25 lakh km per year, producing power and control cables, house wires, and other products under the brand name “SIGMA”.
