The Waterproofers Association of India (WAI) will host the second edition of the India International Waterproofers Conference & Expo 2026 on August 6–7 at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, bringing together stakeholders from the construction ecosystem to discuss technological innovation, quality standards and sustainable building practices.
Organised in partnership with the China Building Waterproofing Association as the International Association Partner and supported by NAREDCO, the conference aims to strengthen collaboration between Indian and global waterproofing professionals while highlighting the growing importance of waterproofing in resilient infrastructure development.
The two-day event is expected to attract over 550 delegates from India and overseas, including manufacturers, architects, consultants, contractors, developers, asset owners, government agencies and public sector organisations. More than 20 industry experts, five panel discussions and 53 exhibition booths will showcase the latest waterproofing technologies, materials and equipment.
The conference agenda will focus on technical challenges and best practices in modern construction, covering topics such as climate-responsive waterproofing design, risk assessment, system selection for basements and water-retaining structures, synthetic membrane technologies, mechanised application methods, material testing and quality assurance. Discussions will also address performance-based specifications, durable waterproofing solutions for extreme weather conditions and balancing construction speed with long-term building performance.
A key focus this year will be the increasing role of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in construction. Dedicated sessions will examine how AI-powered tools and business automation can improve project documentation, contract management, operational efficiency, cash-flow management and dispute resolution across construction projects.
According to Sandeep Chaudhry, President, Waterproofers Association of India, the conference seeks to provide a unified platform for an industry that plays a critical role in enhancing building durability and lifecycle performance but has traditionally received limited attention within the broader construction sector.
The event will also facilitate international knowledge exchange, with around 55 overseas delegates from China, Germany, South Korea and the UAE expected to participate, creating opportunities for technology partnerships and business collaborations with Indian companies.
As infrastructure investments continue to grow across India, industry bodies believe knowledge-sharing platforms such as the WAI conference will play an important role in advancing technical standards, promoting innovation and improving the long-term sustainability and resilience of the built environment.
