LG Electronics Heat Pump Specialists program is accelerating market leadership as the company scales technical expertise and installation infrastructure around its new high-efficiency heat pump boiler. The initiative targets architects, mechanical consultants, and real estate developers integrating sustainable heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions into residential, commercial, and institutional projects across India and global markets.
LG Electronics is solidifying its market leadership by launching a new high-efficiency heat pump boiler, leveraging its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technology, and significantly expanding its professional engineer infrastructure. On May 26, LG Electronics announced that it recently held a tailored professional training session for domestic engineers at the LG Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Academy in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, aimed at enhancing expertise in the installation and maintenance of the new ‘LG Heat Pump System Boiler.’ The product architecture uses R32 refrigerant with 68% lower Global Warming Potential compared to the commonly used R410A, reducing environmental impact while improving system efficiency.
Technical Training
This technical training aligns with the government’s recently announced eco-friendly energy policy. The government is currently pursuing a project to distribute 3.5 million heat pumps by 2035, targeting a reduction of 5.18 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions. LG Electronics aims to provide differentiated experiences to domestic customers by combining its high-efficiency and high-performance products, which have been proven in Europeโthe home of heat pumpsโwith a customized installation and maintenance infrastructure for the Korean market. For Indian specifications, the same engineering framework is being adapted to address monsoon humidity, grid variability, and mixed-use building loads.
Installation Network
Since 2011, LG Electronics has been building its heat pump boiler business in Korea, establishing business capabilities optimized for the domestic market and a highly developed service infrastructure over 15 years. The company is sequentially conducting training programs for professional heat pump boiler engineers across the country, including Jejuโwhere the national heat pump distribution project is underway. Since 2014, more than 4,000 individuals have received LG Electronics’ specialized installation training, and the company continues to nurture professional installation engineers every year. HiM Solution Tech, which is responsible for heat pump services, has secured more than 1,000 service engineers, enabling 24-hour service requests and responses within two days.
Earlier this month, LG Electronics launched the LG Heat Pump System Boiler in Korea. This product can generate about four to five times more thermal energy compared to the electricity input, which can potentially reduce energy costs by approximately 40โ60% compared to conventional fossil fuel-based boilers, while also contributing to carbon emission reduction. Key components and finished products of the new model will also be produced domestically in stages to ensure a more stable supply to the market. For architects designing net-zero buildings, the coefficient of performance and refrigerant choice are critical parameters for green building certifications and lifecycle cost analysis.
Beyond the domestic market, LG Electronics is also focusing on researching heat pump technologies that deliver high performance in extreme climates worldwide. The company operates cold-climate heat pump research centers in North America in Alaska, United States, Europe in Oslo, Norway, and Asia in Harbin, China, and continues to develop high-efficiency heating technologies through close collaborations with universities and institutions in each country. The data from sub-zero and high-humidity testing informs product selection for hill stations, coastal cities, and composite climate zones in India, where mechanical engineers must balance heating, cooling, and dehumidification loads.
ย Global Training
In addition to heat pumps, LG Electronics is training specialists across various product areas, such as commercial air conditioners and chillers, laying the groundwork to become a top-tier company in the global heating, ventilation, and air conditioning market. The company trains more than 30,000 HVAC engineers annually across 65 locations in 43 countries, including the United States and India. For the construction and infrastructure sector, this workforce development reduces commissioning delays and ensures that large-scale residential townships, hospitals, hotels, and data centers receive compliant installation and after-sales support.
Para 8: Industry Response. Minho Kwon, Head of Eco Solution Engineering at LG Electronics, stated, “Leveraging our heat pump technology, which has been recognized in advanced markets like Europe, as well as our expertise in installation and maintenance at the customer level, we will provide domestic customers with a new dimension of high-efficiency heating solutions.” For urban planners and real estate developers, the expansion of LG Electronics Heat Pump Specialists signals greater availability of low-carbon mechanical systems that align with Indiaโs Energy Conservation Building Code and emerging mandates for electrification of heating in institutional infrastructure.
