After a four-year hiatus, Fusion Interior Design has reopened its doors to the public in Cascais, Portugal. The architecture and interior design firm had previously operated solely from an atelier and showroom, but the new store allows them to reconnect with the public and showcase their unique designs. Founded in 2007, Fusion Interior Design is led by designers Maria Ana Noronha, Teresa Matos Correia, and Teresa Lopes Ferreira, who emphasizes the importance of closeness and contact with people.
The new 100-square-meter store features a wide range of furniture, lamps, ceramics, and textiles from international brands like รlitis and Pierre Frey, as well as Portuguese labels such as Bรกrbara Osรณrio fabrics and Ferreira de Sรก rugs. The store also showcases pieces designed by Fusion Interior Design for their own projects, including the Book lamp and the Fantasma shelves. With a strong focus on sustainable and eco-friendly design, the company promotes Portuguese talent and works closely with local artists, artisans, and suppliers.
The store includes a private studio space where designers can meet with clients and work on projects, fostering creativity and idea generation. While the company doesn’t have ambitious expansion plans, they’re open to running pop-ups in other parts of Portugal, having successfully done so in Tavira last year.
