The Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show is back at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh this weekend, offering a unique opportunity for homeowners and enthusiasts to connect with experts and explore the latest products and services. The two-day event, sponsored by Fleming Homes, features over 120 exhibitors showcasing everything from extensions and conversions to home DIY, planning permission, and renewable technologies.
The show includes more than 20 free live events, such as seminars and masterclasses on various topics. MarieAnne Messenger, award-winning interior architect and garden designer, will share tips on enhancing outdoor spaces with practical, stylish, and sustainable design solutions. Clare Wade, qualified Lighting Designer of Fife-based Cat Lighting, will discuss the importance of planning lighting for projects, showing how to interrogate architect’s plans, make decisions about lighting style, and build in the right type of light. Aira, one of Europe’s leading direct-to-consumer clean energy-tech players, will present a masterclass on the power of heat pumps, cutting costs and carbon emissions. Scottish architect Allan Corfield will reveal secrets for adding space without extending, including ideas for loft, garage, and cellar conversions. David Hilton, heating and eco expert, will also be on hand to explain how to make old homes more comfortable and reduce running costs.
In addition to the live events, attendees can also benefit from free one-to-one sessions with experts at The Advice Centre, covering projects from first home alterations to full-scale self-builds. Experts will include architects, builders, finance, eco, and planning professionals. The event provides an opportunity to connect with industry professionals and get inspiration for home renovation projects.
The Edinburgh show is taking place at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, on October 4-5, 2025. The opening hours are Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4:30pm.
