Assam CM lays foundation stone for Guwahati’s Longest Flyover

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for a four-lane elevated corridor in Guwahati recently, aiming to establish the state as the ‘Gateway to South Asia’. The project will be developed by the Public Works (Road) Department, Assam Government, involves a 5053.20m-long flyover raised at 5.70m, costing an estimated INR 852.68 Crore. This extensive flyover will link Dighalipukhuri to Noonmati and include extensions towards GNB Road, West Dighalipukhuri Road, and Rajgarh Road, becoming Guwahati’s longest flyover.

Furthermore, the corridor, set to be operational by 2026, promises smoother traffic flow and will create parking spaces underneath, giving a boost to businesses along the Dighalipukhuri to Noonmati stretch.
