Arcadia’s Newcastle studio is set to bring two state-significant projects to life in Australia, both deeply rooted in cultural influence and First Nations Knowledge. The landscape architecture firm has designed the University of Newcastle’s city campus student accommodation, prioritizing open spaces and community connections. The project showcases Arcadia’s commitment to creating culturally safe spaces for community members.
The second project, a waterfront development in Lake Macquarie, spans 23 hectares and features retail, dining, and residential areas. Arcadia’s design seamlessly integrates land and water, celebrating Awabakal Country through native planting, sculptures, and wayfinding. Both projects have received approval from the New South Wales Government and incorporate local indigenous stakeholder engagement.
