Several notable projects are set to open across Australia in 2026, showcasing innovative designs and sustainable features. Adelaide Central Market Arcade by Woods Bagot is a $400 million redevelopment featuring a 35-storey tower, elevated garden terrace, and restored arches. Powerhouse Parramatta by Moreau Kusunoki and Genton boasts a latticed design with 18,000 sqm of exhibition space and a rooftop pavilion. The project includes a landscape design led by McGregor Coxall and will feature an exhibition exploring aerospace and Australians’ involvement in outer space discovery.
Other projects include the Glasshouse Theatre by Blight Rayner and Snรธhetta, a rippled glass facade theatre at Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and the Larrakia Cultural Centre by Rossi Architects, a museum and gallery in Darwin featuring a striking roof inspired by an ancestral bird. ECU City by Lyons, Silver Thomas Hanley and Haworth Tompkins is Edith Cowan University’s Perth CBD campus with a dynamic digital facade, accommodating over 10,000 staff in creative industries, arts and humanities, and business and law faculties.
The Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre by Woods Bagot is a waterfront project with a 1000-seat venue and 200-room hotel, part of a government partnership to revitalise Geelong’s economy. The Ian Potter National Conservatory by Chrofi, McGregor Coxall and Atelier Ten is a sustainable conservatory in Canberra’s Australian National Botanic Gardens, featuring a “hovering cube” design. The Forest by Woods Bagot is a restored Forestry building in Hobart with a mass timber framework and sustainable design, set to become an inner-city hub for learning and research.
