A Western Australian-based design and construction team has been selected for the Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct project. Following a competitive tender process, the preferred alliance team comprises Seymour Whyte Constructions, Civmec Construction & Engineering, and Aurecon Australasia โ the same contractors behind the landmark Boorloo Bridge project.
The new precinct at Burswood Park will elevate Western Australia’s standing as a premier destination for sport and entertainment. The alliance will handle design, development, site investigations, and early works preparation. The project includes a new outdoor amphitheater with a capacity for 15,000 to 20,000 people, complementing existing venues like Optus Stadium and Crown Perth.
The precinct will support live music and sporting events, including Supercars and cycling events. Outside of official events, the area will be open to the community year-round. Key priorities include environmental enhancements, landscape improvements, and connectivity.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier Daniel Pastorelli will chair the Project Steering Committee. Precinct planning and design will begin upon contract award, with early works commencing later this year and construction expected to be complete in 2027.
