Norman Foster, the acclaimed architect behind Apple’s iconic headquarters, Apple Park, is bringing his signature style to Seoul. Foster’s design firm, Foster+Partners, will design the premium office building “Maven Estate Dosan” in Gangnam-gu’s Dosan-daero. This marks the first project in Seoul by a Pritzker Prize winner, often referred to as the Nobel Prize in architecture.
Foster’s designs are characterized by bold use of glass, iron, and aluminum, as seen in landmarks like Apple Park and London’s “Gherkin” Building. Notably, he has designed headquarters for global companies such as HSBC, JPMorgan, and Bloomberg. Maven Estate Dosan, scheduled for completion in 2028, will feature a unique blend of work, relaxation, and hospitality, including dining, fitness spa, swimming pool, and hotel-level services.
The building’s design prioritizes tenant privacy, with a side-road entrance and blocked vehicle drop-off space. Its non-column interior space allows for flexible layouts, catering to various tenant needs. Following Seoul, Foster’s “Maven Project” will expand to major cities worldwide, including New York, Tokyo, London, and Singapore.
