Sanjay Puri Architects’ Shree Town project in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, won a Future House Award 2025. This organic housing layout takes cues from old Indian cities, prioritizing natural ventilation, light, and sustainability in Rajasthan’s heat.
The 6-acre project features mid-rise buildings with 72 studio, 48 two-bedroom, and 48 three-bedroom apartments. Sheltered courtyards, recessed windows, and cross-ventilation mitigate heat gain, while vibrant colors reflect traditional Indian culture. Neutral internal spaces allow occupants to personalize their homes.
Sustainable features include water recycling, a sewage treatment plant, and rainwater harvesting. The design incorporates a 36,000 sq.m. garden, creating intimate spaces between buildings.
