PierPop Waterfront Festival has launched at The Ballard Pier in South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate, converting the historic waterfront into a month-long destination through the monsoon. Presented by House of Hiranandani in partnership with The Ballard Pier, the festival opened on June 21 and will run until July 23, 2026. Designed as a recurring destination rather than a single-day event, PierPop Waterfront Festival brings together sport, food, culture, retail and live programming across the pier. Organisers expect weekly footfall to cross 7,500, positioning the activation as a new seasonal draw for residents and visitors looking for indoor and outdoor experiences by the harbour.
PierPop Waterfront Festival is built around four anchor experiences that operate daily through the month. NautiPickle is India’s first indoor air-conditioned pickleball arena with eight courts, including seven Harbour Courts and one Captain’s Court VIP experience, open Monday to Sunday from 7 AM to 2 AM with coaching available on request via Hudle. NautiTrax offers an indoor go-karting experience on a 295-metre track, running weekdays 11 AM to 10 PM and weekends 11 AM to midnight with bookings through BookMyShow. Nauti Baro Market is a discovery-led lifestyle and retail market curated by Srila Chaterjee of Baro, featuring fashion, home, art and culture-led brands from over 25 cities. Baro hosts 15 plus markets per year across 16 cities with a curated selection of 200 plus brands. Pier Pantry is a slow-living food market curated by The Nommers, celebrating homegrown produce, artisanal goods, baked treats and seasonal finds from local growers and makers.
Beyond the four anchors, PierPop Waterfront Festival delivers a full calendar of programming aimed at all age groups and interests. A dedicated children’s activity zone, Nautiverse, runs through the festival alongside Kids at Work, a hands-on construction playground and experiential zone for children, and The Reading Nook, a daily workshop and creative space for young explorers. Evenings include Cinema by the Sea on select dates, while Nauti-Wheels RC creates a motorsport and automotive community zone. Additional activations include Hyrox Training sessions, creative workshops by Art for Akanksha, wellness and beauty experiences, soundscapes and DJ sets at Wavelengths, curated food stops, and a waterfront bar. A Seaside Park remains open to the public throughout the festival run, reinforcing the intent to make the pier accessible as a public space.
For House of Hiranandani, the PierPop Waterfront Festival reflects a broader approach to urban development that prioritises public space and community connection. “Great cities are defined as much by their public spaces as by their skylines. At House of Hiranandani, we have always believed that when you design for connection, community follows. PierPop is that belief in practice. For one month, Ballard Pier belongs to Mumbai — to families, to sport, to food, to culture, and to everyone who has ever looked at this waterfront and wished they could be closer to it,” said Prashin Jhobalia, Chief Marketing Officer, House of Hiranandani. The statement frames the festival as an extension of the developer’s philosophy on integrated communities and placemaking.
Waterfront Reimagined
The Ballard Pier views PierPop Waterfront Festival as an opportunity to reactivate the harbour as a monsoon destination for the city. “The waterfront has always been part of Mumbai’s story. With PierPop, we’re reimagining it as a place to return to throughout the monsoon. Curated with experiences for all ages and interests, it offers a fresh way to spend time in the city—transforming rainy weekends into moments of discovery, connection and shared memories. We’re inviting people to rediscover the harbour and make it their own again,” said Kanchan Rizvi, President & Terminal Head, The Ballard Pier Downtown Experience Centre. The emphasis is on repeat visitation across June and July, supported by a rotating calendar of music, food and cultural programming.
About PierPop Waterfront Festival, organisers highlight the intent to give Mumbai residents a reason to return through the monsoon rather than attend a one-day event. The festival’s programming is structured to serve families, sport enthusiasts, food lovers, shoppers and those drawn to the sea. With 7,500 plus footfall expected weekly, the mix of indoor arenas for pickleball and go-karting ensures weather-proof activity, while the Seaside Park and Cinema by the Sea use the waterfront setting. The four signature activations anchor the experience, while the broader calendar adds depth through workshops, wellness, retail and dining. This model aims to convert Ballard Pier into a downtown experience centre for the season.
