CREDAI Pune has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BCA International Pte Ltd (BCAI), a subsidiary of Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA), to promote sustainable, innovative, and high-quality building practices in India. The partnership aims to advance green and smart building practices, with a focus on supporting CREDAI members in obtaining BCA Green Mark certifications and advancing Super Low Energy Buildings (SLEB) and Net Zero targets.
The strategic partnership between CREDAI Pune and BCA International will also involve organizing training programs, site visits, and sharing best practices in construction quality and green building standards. This knowledge exchange will enable CREDAI members to adopt international benchmarks and best practices, aligning with India’s Net Zero commitments. Furthermore, the partnership will facilitate collaboration through events like Singapore’s International Built Environment Week, providing a platform for CREDAI members to network with industry experts and stakeholders.
The partnership will also encourage partnerships between Singaporean firms and CREDAI members to implement smart and sustainable solutions in India. Additionally, BCA International will support CREDAI Pune in establishing a Centre of Excellence to promote advanced construction technologies. This centre will serve as a hub for innovation and knowledge sharing, enabling CREDAI members to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the construction industry.
The MoU was signed by Manish Jain, President of CREDAI Pune, and Heng Teck Thai, Executive Director of BCA International, during an official visit to Singapore. The agreement comes as an 80-member delegation from CREDAI Pune’s International Business Forum (CIBF) visited Singapore to engage with developers, architects, policymakers, and government authorities. The delegation studied advanced practices in sustainable construction, urban development, and housing solutions for adoption in India.
