BKK Architects and Cottee Parker have unveiled proposals for a supertall skyscraper on the Gold Coast, which would become Australia’s tallest building if constructed. The One Park Lane development comprises twin skyscrapers, including a 60-storey commercial tower and a 101-storey residential tower that would reach almost 400 meters high.
The mixed-use development aims to address local housing shortages while boosting commercial infrastructure. Brett Rogers, Managing Director at Baracon, said, “This development will help address the desperate need for more housing on the Gold Coast and stimulate broader economic activity. We know the private sector has a vital role to play in helping ease the housing shortage here on the Gold Coast and we’re proud to be part of that solution.”
The towers will be connected by a curved glass bridge on the 22nd level, offering panoramic views of the city. The complex will feature over 11,500 square meters of office space, resort-style amenities for residents, and direct access to transport links and commercial spaces. Brooke Patterson, Councillor of Division 6, said, “One Park Lane is exactly the kind of catalytic development we want to see in Southport. The development will bring new residents, high-quality commercial space, and exciting hospitality offerings to the area, helping to activate the Central Business District and support local businesses.”
