Perceptive Ideas Consulting Engineers has structurally designed the plans for Vanijya Bhawan, the new office complex for the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, located at 16A Akbar Road, C-Hexagon, New Delhi. This project showcases the firm’s expertise in delivering functional and structurally advanced public architectural plans, blending modern engineering with cultural heritage.
Vanijya Bhawan houses the offices of the Ministers of Commerce and Industry, the Secretary’s office, and accommodates 1800 to 2000 officers. The design incorporates a modern steel structural framework with traditional faรงade treatments, ensuring structural efficiency and architectural harmony. Key features include composite columns for enhanced load-bearing capacity, shallow depth post-tensioned beams for structural flexibility, and large-span cantilever projections for open, column-free spaces.
The project utilizes modern construction technologies, including steel structures and post-tensioned slabs, to enhance performance and durability. “This marks another milestone for our organisation, especially when we are associated with a project as grand as Vanijya Bhawan. It represents our capabilities and commitment to deliver structural engineering plans within a framework of national heritage,” said Ajay Gupta, Principal Consultant and Founder, Perceptive Ideas Consulting.
Perceptive Ideas Consulting has reinforced its portfolio in large-scale government and institutional projects, demonstrating its ability to combine design innovation and structural artistry. The organisation has consistently turned complex architectural visions into structurally efficient realities, contributing to India’s evolving infrastructure.
