The Mexico City-based architecture studio LANZA atelier, founded by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo, has been selected to design the 2026 Serpentine Pavilion. Titled “a serpentine,” the pavilion will be unveiled to the public at Serpentine South in Kensington Gardens, London, on June 6, 2026.
The design draws inspiration from the English architectural feature known as a “serpentine” or “crinkle-crankle” wall, a curved brick structure that provides stability and requires fewer bricks than a straight wall. The pavilion’s configuration features two main walls, one tracing the serpentine geometry and the other aligning with the existing tree canopy. A translucent roof rests on brick columns, evoking a grove of trees and allowing light and air to permeate the space.ยน ยฒ ยณ

The 2026 Serpentine Pavilion marks the 25th edition of the annual commission, which will be celebrated with a special collaboration with the Zaha Hadid Foundation. The pavilion will be open to the public from June 6 to October 26, 2026.
