India’s construction equipment industry is on a roll, growing at 10-15% CAGR over the last decade, and is expected to become the second-largest player globally by 2030, surpassing China. Currently valued at $10 billion, the industry aims to triple its size to $25 billion, driven by infrastructure projects and smart city initiatives.
The construction equipment sector encompasses earthmoving machines, material handling equipment, and road construction machines, with India selling 1,40,000 units annually, exporting 20% to 140 countries. To boost efficiency and safety, the industry is adopting cutting-edge technologies like telematics, IoT, AI, and 3D printing.
The 13th edition of EXCON 2025, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is underway at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, featuring seven country pavilions and over 1,250 exhibitors. This event showcases India’s commitment to becoming a global manufacturing hub, aligning with the “Make in India” vision.
