Mumbai-based design studio ReSa Architects, founded by Revati Shah and Shivani Shah, has won the Lisbon Architecture Triennale Début Award 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious recognitions for emerging architectural talent. The announcement was made on October 4 during the opening of the Triennale’s fifth edition in Portugal.
Selected from 75 global entries, ReSa was named the winner by an international jury comprising Inês Lobo, Lígia Nobre, Samia Henni, Sandi Hilal, and Yuma Shinohara. The Début Award celebrates young practices that demonstrate innovation, creativity, and a reimagined approach to the built environment.
ReSa Architects’ work explores architecture as a participatory, social process—merging art, research, and design to challenge spatial and cultural conventions. Their approach focuses on movement, perception, and human experience, expanding architecture beyond static structures.
The Triennale jury praised ReSa’s focus on “situations rather than fixed sites,” calling their practice a powerful rethinking of how space interacts with society. The recognition marks a milestone for Indian architecture, spotlighting a new generation of designers shaping global discourse through context, consciousness, and collaboration.
