Baker Barrios Architects launched BirdDog Development Partners, a development management firm that offers site selection, design, planning, budgeting, construction, and operations services, recently. The new firm acts as a bridge between Baker Barrios’ architectural services and its preferred clients, connecting them with industry partners.
BirdDog’s first project is a 755-bed, 243-unit student housing complex near the University of Mississippi in Oxford. The $370,000-sf project, designed by Baker Barrios Architects, will feature a mix of housing types, including cottages, townhouses, and flats, as well as a 3,000-sf event venue. The complex will offer fully furnished one- to four-bedroom units and various amenities, such as a resort-style pool, fitness areas, lounges, study areas, and a yoga/spin studio.
BirdDog Development Partners will focus on student housing, mixed-use, multifamily, and medical office sectors, providing development management services that include site selection, design, planning, budgeting, construction, and operations. The firm’s managing partners, Tim Baker and John Slavens, will oversee the company’s operations.
