The 2026 International Union of Architects (UIA) World Congress in Barcelona (UIA2026BCN) has launched its Call for Participants, inviting architects, designers, engineers, researchers, and artists to submit innovative proposals. The Congress theme, “Becoming, Architectures for a Planet in Transition,” seeks interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary challenges in the built environment.
Participants can submit proposals in three categories: Critical Design (architectural projects and design methodologies), Critical Essay (essays and research articles), and Critical Image (photographic, cinematographic, and multimedia pieces). A committee of experts will evaluate proposals, followed by a final selection by an international jury.
Selected works will be integrated into the Congress program through presentations, debates, and exhibitions. Participation is free, and the deadline for submissions is May 23, 2025.
