Dyson has launched its latest floorcare technology, the Dyson WashG1, a floor cleaner that has been designed to pick up wet and dry debris in a single sweep. The WashG1 has been designed to offer a hygienic clean on hard floors and across large spaces. The latest offering from Dyson comes equipped with a 1-litre clean-water tank that covers up to 290 square metres.
According to Dyson, what makes the WashG1 unique is that it uses a combination of hydration, absorption, and extraction technologies to remove wet and dry debris in one go. It automatically separates the debris making the maintenance hygienic and hassle-free.
“Over the years, a vast array of wet floor cleaning formats have emerged to help us tackle this chore yet users’ expectations are often left unfulfilled when it comes to stain removal, pick-up performance, and floor finish. Dyson engineers solve the problems others ignore and we thrive on the challenge of creating better technology. The Dyson WashG1 is the result of this; our first dedicated wet machine to wash hard floors, properly and hygienically,” said Charlie Park, Vice President of Dyson Home Engineering at Dyson.
The all-new WashG1 comes equipped with two individually powered rollers that counter-rotate as a pulse-modulated pump evenly distributes water across 26 hydration points, along the full width of the rollers.
Each roller in the cleaner is made using high absorbent microfibre, with 64,800 filaments per square centimetre. The company claims that this combination of high-density microfibre and consistent application of clean water absorbs liquid spills, and the filaments capture dry dirt, debris, and hair. This allows for powerful and fast stain removal.
WashG1 comes with advanced separation technology that allows for hygienic cleaning by separating debris and dirty water at the source. This allows for an easy no-touch disposal. The system uses durable extraction plates to extract dirty water from rollers into a 0.8-litre tank, while the secondary brushes on the rollers push the debris into a removable tray. Besides, a 500-micron mesh filters out large particles and keeps them within the machine’s head for easy removal.
Dyson claims the WashG1’s design is functional as its wide tank openings and lack of sharp internal edges simplify maintenance and decrease dirt accumulation. Its self-cleaning mode flushes the system post-use, readying it for the next session. The device also features adjustable hydration control with low, medium, and high settings customised to different types of flooring or preferences. The Dyson WashG1 will be available soon in India.
