YouthNet, in partnership with Asian Paints Color Academy launched the ‘Wall Pro’ Basic Construction Painter Course, a six-day training programme aimed at empowering youth in Nagaland with essential painting skills. The programme commenced at the YouthNet Office, Chümoukedima recently in the presence of the officials from Asian Paints Color Academy Bikash Kalita, Supervisor, and Utpal Deka, Technical Executive & Master Trainer.
The Media Cell, YouthNet in a press release stated that Razouvikhol Luho, Nodal Officer & Senior Manager at YouthNet, in his opening speech, expressed gratitude to Asian Paints for their continuous support. He emphasised the importance of the training programme in enhancing the construction sector in Nagaland and encouraged participants to leverage their newfound skills to become job providers in addition to seeking employment opportunities.
Nuneseno Chase, Director of YouthNet, underscored the significance of the partnership with Asian Paints Limited and urged participants to make the most of the 6-day training program. Chase remarked that the day marked a significant milestone in the journey towards empowering the youth of Nagaland. She emphasised that the partnership with Asian Paints was not solely about training but also about creating sustainable pathways to success for the youth.
As the six-day training journey commenced, she urged each participant to seize every opportunity for learning and growth. Chase emphasised that their dedication and perseverance would not only shape their individual futures but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.
Since 2018, YouthNet and Asian Paints Limited have collaborated to empower youth through skill development initiatives. The Basic Painter Training Program aims to train 120 youth participants across Nagaland, with training centers located in Kohima and Chümoukedima-Dimapur. The curriculum includes comprehensive topics such as construction painting techniques, surface preparation, safety precautions, and hands-on practical sessions. Furthermore, YouthNet aims to introduce additional skill development training, including plumbing, to further boost the construction sector in Nagaland.
