The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) recently unveiled the three finalists competing for the prestigious RIBA International Prize 2024. The shortlisted projects are Jacoby Studios in Germany, Modulus Matrix: 85 Social Housing in Spain, and Lianzhou Museum of Photography in China.
“The conservation of the planet’s resources and provision of quality housing remain central concerns for architects worldwide,” said Muyiwa Oki, President, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). “These three inspiring projects demonstrate architecture’s ability to meet global challenges head-on.”
The winner will be announced on November 27, 2024. The RIBA International Prize recognizes buildings that demonstrate excellence, originality, and community contribution. This year’s Grand Jury comprises Chair Lu Wenyu, Architect, ZAO/standardarchitecture, Tosin Oshinowo, Architect, cmDesign Atelier, and Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator, Architecture and Design, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Previous winners include Friendship Hospital in Bangladesh (2021), Children Village in Brazil (2018), and Universidad de Ingenierรญa y Tecnologรญa in Peru (2016).
