According to a press release, Poltrona Frau celebrated the 60th anniversary of the iconic Dezza armchair, designed by Gio Ponti in 1965. This limited edition features a unique upholstery pattern, a reproduction of an unpublished illustration by Gio Ponti.
The Dezza armchair occupies a special place in Poltrona Frau’s history, representing the brand’s new direction after relocating to Tolentino in 1962. The armchair’s modernist and squared lines are balanced by elegantly curved armrests, lending a sense of momentum and dynamism.
This limited edition of 60 pieces is upholstered in Pelle Frau ColorSphere Impact Less leather, reflecting the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The upholstery pattern features 26 stylized hands, each uniquely designed with its own name and identity.
According to Nicola Coropulis, CEO of Poltrona Frau, “We are thrilled to present this historic piece from our catalogue in a new guise… With our re-editions, we always try to create and deepen the cultural significance of the original design.”
The Dezza Limited Edition armchair will be available online exclusively in select European markets from February 13th to April 1st and later at select Poltrona Frau stores worldwide. Each piece is individually numbered and accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.
