Nemetschek Group India and Anna University, Chennai, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Centre of Excellence. The centre aims to enhance industry readiness for engineering and architecture students by integrating Nemetschek technology and industry-relevant training into academic curricula according to a press release.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the CUIC Auditorium, Anna University, in the presence of academicians, industry experts, and key stakeholders. The initiative focuses on raising awareness about emerging job opportunities in core engineering fields like Civil Engineering and Architecture.
Nirmalya Chatterjee, Managing Director, Nemetschek Group India, said, “This collaboration marks a significant step towards bridging the industry-academia gap in India’s AEC sector. Our goal is to equip students with technological expertise and practical knowledge to meet industry demands.”
Professor Shanmuga Sundaram, Director, CUIC, Anna University, stated, “This MoU will enable our students to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge AEC technologies, enhancing their employability and preparing them for global career opportunities.”
The AEC Centre of Excellence will offer specialized training in Building Information Modelling (BIM), structural analysis, and digital construction technologies. The collaboration aims to enhance graduate employability by aligning academic programs with industry requirements.
